Shadow of The Tomb Raider

As Lara Croft looks to save the world from a Mayan apocalypse in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, she’ll make her way through a jungle full of dangers. Not everything poses a threat, though, and a new video has been released showing off the hidden city of Paititi, the largest hub to ever be created for a Tomb Raider title.

The city has multiple districts and promises hours of entertainment, with a number of challenge tombs and side missions from its citizens. You’ll be able to obtain new outfits, crafting materials, and weapons at the marketplace through the new barter system, and hunt and harvest resources too. The game’s narrative director Jason Dozois provides the commentary as you look around the city for nearly ten minutes.

You’ll be able to explore Paititi for yourself when the game is released on September 14th.

A short but very sweet trailer has been released for Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming action-adventure title Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Lara Croft is one of the best in the business when it comes to traversing over tricky landscapes and she shows us exactly why in the following trailer. Check out the brand new set of traversal techniques as Lara makes climbing upside down, vertical climbs, swinging through the air and jumping over huge gaps look so easy.

With the videos coming in at a steady pace for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, another feature of Crystal Dynamics’ action-adventure is under the spotlight as Takedowns are the focus this time. Brutal, fast and deadly, Lara doesn’t mess around with her takedowns. Whether it’s out in the open in front of another enemy, from a ledge, or even in the water, Lara makes it look very easy.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider takes down the Xbox One on September 14th.

The vignettes for Shadow of the Tomb Raider show no sign of slowing down. Crystal Dynamics has another couple of short videos for us to check out. The first wants players to “Know Your Enemy”. There’s no Green Day here, instead a look at the enemies — both human and animal — that Lara will have to deal with.

The other video then takes a look at the “Makeshift Arsenal” that she’ll be using to take them down. While the bow we see her use can certainly be described as makeshift, I’m less sure about the assault rifle and shotgun she wields towards the end. Not that their status as makeshift or not is stopping Lara from taking on all comers.

A focal point for Shadow of the Tomb Raider is Lara’s evolution from a skin-of-her-teeth survivor in the reboot to what she’ll become in next month’s game: a cunning, deadly predator. That evolution comes with a bevy of new perks and tools for Lara to employ, as you’ll see in this new trailer. From clouding the battlefield in smoke to slowing down time to line up headshots, the Trinity goons never really stood a chance.

Lara’s journey continues when Shadow of the Tomb Raider launches on September 14th.

A couple of new videos have been released for developer Crystal Dynamics’ highly-anticipated action-adventure title, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which is closing in on its release date this week. The first is a launch trailer that features sweet-looking gameplay as Lara explores vast landscapes, scary tombs, and makes quick work of enemies in her way with a pretty decent selection of weapons:

The second video showcases how the game can be visually improved thanks to Xbox One X enhancements. Such improvements include the following:

  • Native 4K Ultra HD gets you the highest gameplay resolution available on the market.
  • HDR compatibility means higher contrast and more vivid colors as Lara explores the lush landscapes of Central and South America.
  • True 3D Audio with full Dolby Atmos immerses the player with 360 audio spanning from the canopy to the jungle floor.
  • Customization options allow for prioritize high resolution, or high framerate.
  • Enhanced texture resolution results in a more lifelike world than ever before.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be ready to roll out on Friday, September 14th.
