I think it should but no way is the NFL going to leave all that money on the table. Damn money grubbers. 1.86 Billion dollar deal for streaming and tv rights and only 226 million reaches the players. That is some shit deal.

take a look at what Sherman wrote the year before.
I actually asked this question to Roger Goodell when I was part of a Sirius XM Q&A hosted by Strahan a few years ago on NFL Radio. When I asked him I also asked if he was worried of over saturation of the league having games on too many nights and being like the other sports. Part of the charm of the NFL in the past was the weekly event and adding the Thursday night games took some of that away. He was a friendly and smart guy but gave zero indication that they would do away with the Thursday night games.
On a side note as an Eagles fan, I hated the fact that I liked Strahan upon meeting him.

I really don’t care for Sherman, but I do like reading what he writes. He is eloquent and can put together sentence structure better than most GRG can spell poop and boobs.
Anyway, I agree with this. Since the advent of Thursday night football, the league has gotten a watered down product. Forget the league, the fans have to deal with it. Sherman states it in the article that the players are basically broken down each Sunday and need the week to recover. Adding a game in the middle of the week is harmful for the players and you can see that it’s a sloppy game cause the players are trying to give it their all, but just can’t.
Thursday night football is ok for the start of the season, kick off with the champ playing at home or something. But then don’t see it again til thanksgiving, and even with that give those guys the week before a bye to heal up.

The big problem is even if the matchup is a good one (not often the case as those are reserved for Sunday and Sunday night), the teams are playing on 4 days rest so they’re not prepared and not fully rested. The result is a shitty product after the first couple of weeks (in the rare case the first couple of weeks are actually decent matchups).
I agree with Fish - the only Thursday game should be the first night of the year, and should be a marquee matchup involving the defending champ. The Thanksgiving idea is good as well if byes align. This play Sunday then play Thursday crap has to stop.
I will take more football at any time. My issue with Thursday games are the scheduling. They schedule the worst possible games for Thursday. I think they should get rid of the stupid England games before they get rid of Thursday night football.

I stick with my Games in England sentiment as well, you should only play a Thursday night game coming off a bye even if it means games the rest of the week are adjusted. Plus the flex schedule is bullshit, how can there be only 3 games in the afternoon slot? 8 games at 11 am and then three at 2pm, ridiculous
And I agree with Fish, Sherman is not high on my list of NFL players I like But he is a fantastic speaker and an eloquent writer. Stanford education 
I don’t feel like 1 game on another day of the week is diluting football. It’s still the same amount of games if it was on Sunday. I also feel like the trip to London is much harder on the players than playing 1 game a year on a Thursday. I do think they could do things to make it easier on the teams like Bus suggest.
But that is just and opinion from another die hard football fan. I do agree that it’s not going to change unless it effects the owner’s and player’s wallets in a negative way.

I agree with pretty much everything that was said. Definitely the kickoff game should be Thursday, then only thanksgiving day. And no more London games. Goodell and the owners getting too greedy. Safety isn’t a true concern when you look at the negative effects these things have on a player. Coaches too, I’m sure. Stress and all that shit.

This also sucks with fantasy lol. Forgot to check my lineup and went to do it today. Wasn’t able to switch some of my bye players since the subs played Thursday.
