I asked on Smite’s / HiRez Studio’s twitch channel, but they don’t know. All they say is that they’re handing out beta codes at PAX East during the weekend, so chances are good that beta codes will be emailed around the same time.

I give it shot . Went ahead and signed up for a possible beta code .
Just got into beta and tried a round last night. Was fun, but totally lost on the whole leveling and storefront during the game…
You can set it to auto level (which buys items for you as well) at first. After you explore the interface, check online for character builds.
Smite’s learning curve is huge, I’m not even close to grasping it yet. I’d worry about learning the game play first. Auto Buy your equipment from the shop at first. The builds they put together are pretty decent and are usually the recommended ones anyway. Or you can create builds prior to games and use that as a template (I’m not sure if that feature is 100% working yet).
