i watched it and liked it. yes, its not like the old ones and honestly i am not sure i wanted it to be like that. they tried to fit a lot into this movie and some of it worked and some of it didnât. (marry poppins incident, etcâŚ) Since this thread has fully has explained everything that didnât i am going to be positive and go through what i liked. Overall i thought the movie was visually stunning and the acting well done. They definitely held to the moniker âThis is not going to go how you thinkâ

I liked that they forced him to recognize that he cant always be brazen and go full steam and not expect consequences for his actions.
Not sure they really kept it a secret but i think what they are trying to show is as an admiral she does not have to explain herself to a lower rank.
Luke
I liked the humor and the similar feel as to when Luke went to Yoda for training. He is now a bitter sarcastic old man. They set that tone right away with him just throwing away his lightsaber.
Rey
They also drew on Empire with the Dark cave as the same in Empire and the same result instead of getting the answer they thought they wanted they got a reflection of themselves. The connection that her and Kylo had throughout the movie worked. The battle between her and Kylo was good.
Kylo
His corruption is power. Like all the other sith lords before him except for Darth Vader, ironically. Which he aspired to be like. Purely I believe to the presence Vadar had. Wanting to be recognized. The battle with Luke was defintely not expected but i get it. Kylo wanted the light saber battle to the death to show he was the best. Luke was not going to give it to him, he was going to show him that there is so much he still does not understand about the force. Luke wanted to âascendâ and that was his way of doing it.
Hux
Adding this only to mention i love the disdain he shows throughout the entire move at Kylo. Plays it perfectly.
Finn
He is growing as a character and it shows. Dragging on a bit but he now has his love interest to boost that along.
I have more thoughts on the movie but need to get them coherent before adding more.
It seems they are setting up story for the next generation anyway. You know Disney they want you buying in for years to come not just one film. They want you back to find out more about the new characters they will hand the franchise over to in the next few films.
Flying in the air hmmm. After all the films you could not give her something a little more bad ass to do except the Mary Poppins routine. What a waste of those Jedi Talents. I know⌠it would have been a more fitting tribute and been a better story. Especially if one of your next Heros is a female would seem a more natural step to me. I like the film but agree some was a bit B movie Cheesy at times.
