@D1G1TALC1PHERS

Microsoft has confirmed that State of Decay 2, the zombie-survival RPG from Undead Labs, will release on May 22 for the Xbox One family of consoles as well as Windows PC as a Play Anywhere title. It will also be available that day on Xbox Game Pass. Furthermore, Microsoft also confirmed a price point of $29.99USD/$49.95AUD for the standard edition and $49.99USD/$69.95AUD for the Ultimate Edition.

Ultimate Edition will include early access to State of Decay 2 on May 18 and a free Xbox One copy of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition as well as the Independence Pack and Daybreak Pack DLCs, which will be released at a TBD date.

Read this yesterday. Very tempted to get the Ultimate edition.

There’s apparently going to be a gameplay teaser dropping tomorrow. If you’ve played the first, you probably know what to expect. I’m interested in seeing what they do to differentiate the two, besides the addition of multiplayer.

Supposedly three map regions from launch. Which would be different.
Not sure how you’ll travel between.

Guess that links in nicely to future DLC.

I may very well get this to grow my Xbox side and break out of the Playstation shell a little more.

Must resist…

Ah fuck it.

It’ll be on Gamepass.

Walking Dead Simulator…yes

I meant the video.

Why resist watching the video??
Just because you think it will make you more likely to buy the game? Or throw money at the Ult Ed…

Spoilers.

Not even story spoilers. I just want it fresh. It’s really hard to get the fresh new game feel now days with all the betas and videos.

I am 100% getting the game. That never was a doubt.

Good call.
I haven’t watched the video and now I won’t.

Not relevant to everyone, I suppose. Since this is Microsoft-published, it’s only going to be on the Windows Store. Since it’s Play Anywhere, it only supports Windows 10. So many games I can’t play because MS doesn’t want to support operating systems for the length of time they said they would.

So disappointing. Given the hardware requirements, it could run on most GRG potatoes.

Did they say that…normally there is a hardcopy release as well.

Sure, there’s going to be a physical release, but not in a way that’s relevant to me. If Windows 10 is a requirement, there’s no reason to lessen that for other distribution channels.

IGN Review is out with a 7.5

State of Decay 2’s survival RPG struggle against zombies is fun thanks to strong combat and fear of permanent death but repetitive and buggy, especially in co-op.

Sounds like the first one. Which I have many many hours in. The one thing they did which will make 2 better is you don’t have to worry about your community when you aren’t playing. That sucked in the first one. If you played for a few days and then took a week off you would come back to dead community members. This version will be more pick up and play.
