I didn’t play the original, but I will be getting this one.
Undead Labs has announced that State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition will be coming this April. The remastered zombie apocalypse will include the base game and both the Breakdown and Lifeline DLCs.
State of Decay
on the Xbox One will receive the full benefit of the move to the
stronger hardware. A bump up to 1080p will add new textures, increased
draw distances, and a deeper level of detail. Meanwhile characters, both
human and zombie, are receiving new animations for more realistic
fluid-looking movements. On top of that, there will be new vehicles,
weapons, and an improved interface to make dealing with inventories a
little easier. Also, instead of resorting to kicking when your melee
weapon breaks, players will now be equipped with a knife to act as your
last resort.
The game is also introducing a new mission type to
the fray. Mysterious supply crates will start dropping into remote areas
of the map, which are filled with some of the rarest and most powerful
equipment in the game. The only problem is that these drops attract
hordes of zombies, and so you will have to wipe them out before you can
get to what they contain.
Returning players to State of Decay
will receive a 33% discount on the new edition of the game. To qualify,
players simply need to have purchased the base game on the Xbox 360 and
have the same active Xbox Live account. You’ll have until June 30th,
2015 to redeem the discount. Returning players will also receive the new
exclusive character, Gurubani, whose weapon of choice is an old Indian
cavalry sword.
State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition is set to release on April 28th on the Xbox One.
