The “Road to the Olympics” DLC for Steep is due to arrive next week. If you want to try it out before you buy, you’ll be able to give the DLC a spin in an open beta that begins tomorrow, November 28th, and runs until December 4th. The beta can be pre-loaded from midnight local time on November 28th and servers will open at 17:00 UTC.
The beta will give players access the ability to free roam across an area of the new Japan map. There will also be two Olympic events, Downhill and Big Air, on the South Korea map to accompany three challenges on the Japan map — two snowboard and one wingsuit. The player who finishes top of the leaderboard in the downhill event by the end of the beta will have a chance to win a ticket to the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018! More details on this competition are coming soon.
The full DLC will be released on December 5th and features a story mode where a young athlete trains across three freestyle disciplines (Big Air, Half Pipe and Slopestyle) with the aim of reaching the Olympic Winter Games and winning the gold medals. As well as the South Korean mountains that are home to the Games, players will be able to roam Japan’s mountains too.
Players will be able to purchase the DLC in three different ways. The expansion can be purchased separately for £26.99 or regional equivalent. Alternatively, the Winter Games Edition bundle offers the game and the expansion for £39.99 or regional equivalent. Finally, the Winter Games Gold Edition bundle offers the base game, the new expansion and the game’s Season Pass (includes the game’s previous three DLCs) for £54.99 or regional equivalent.
