Since we have people interested in streaming, I thought a thread where we could get help, ideas, graphics, etc, would be a good idea. So, if you have things you need help on, or you can help, reply here!

Here are a few streaming software services for PC.

https://www.obsproject.com/
Open Broadcaster Software is a free and open source software suite for recording and live streaming. Written in C and C++, OBS provides real-time source and device capture, scene composition, encoding, recording and broadcasting. Transmission of data is done via the Real Time Messaging Protocol and can be sent to any RTMP supporting destination (e.g. YouTube) including many presets for streaming websites such as Twitch.tv and DailyMotion.[5]

For video encoding, OBS is capable of using the x264 free software library,[6] Intel Quick Sync Video and Nvidia NVENC to encode video streams into the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC format. Experimental support for AMD VCE encoding was added in OBS Studio version 0.16.0. Audio can be encoded using either the MP3 or AAC codecs.

There are two products under XSplit, namely, XSplit Broadcaster and XSplit Gamecaster.

XSplit Broadcaster, acts as a video mixer, where it is able to switch between various media configurations (also known as “scenes”) while dynamically mixing it with other sources such as video cameras, screen regions, game capture, and flash sources. These sources are used to create a broadcast production for both live and on-demand distribution on the web.

XSplit Gamecaster, on the other hand, is a turnkey live streaming and recording application, designed for casual gamers who immediately want to start live streaming or recording their gameplay with minimal setup and configuration.

Pro Tip:

If you are streaming to Twitch.tv go to their website and log in to your account. Go to your dashboard and under the “Stream Information” panel there is a Community box. Make sure you add GrimReaperGamers to that box. Make sure your enter it as I have typed it.

This will make sure your stream is listed on the GRG twitch community page when you are live.
