E3 can be full of surprises, but Kalypso Media and Limbic Entertainment decided to get a bit of a headstart in that aspect by releasing Tropico 6 on Xbox Game Preview today with no prior fanfare. The announcement is accompanied by a first look at gameplay from the console version as El Presidente improves Tropico by bringing infrastructure, the wonders of the world, and occasionally thievery to his kingdom.
The Xbox Game Preview version of the game will give players access to the full single player campaign, including the ability to manage archipelagos for the first time. Over the coming months, the game will be updated to include co-op and competitive multiplayer for up to four players, randomly generated maps, and “other enhancements”.
As part of Microsoft’s Deals Unlocked E3 sale on Xbox, the Game Preview version is currently discounted by 10% for another 10 days.
