Ubisoft to Release Three or Four Major Titles By March 2020

Apparently Ubisoft aim to release three or four major titles before March 2020, according to their Q3 earnings call as reported on by GI.Biz. This follows Ubisoft’s Q3 financial results posting, in which the publisher came out of the year fairly well.

Skull & Bones is slated for a 2019 release and will surely be one of those slots. The rest of the release slate remains unclear.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey proved a winner that kept the company’s net bookings above targets, and hype for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is keeping investor moods high. Interestingly though, net bookings were up on PC, mobile and Switch while they were down on PS4 and Xbox One. Perhaps this is why Assassin’s Creed III Remastered is suddenly getting a port to Nintendo’s hybrid, as well as the fact that Ubisoft’s install base on the console has increased by 115% over the year.

With the release of Far Cry New Dawn and The Division 2 in the financial fourth quarter, CEO Yves Guillemot is anticipating a record quarter and full year for 2018-19. Rainbow Six Siege has also contributed to success in the period having topped 45 million players over time, and Ubisoft are in the process of trying to release the game in China to compete there with PUBG and Fortnite — assuming they can get around China’s tightened regulations on video games.
