Or you can use your hands. I used to use this method at the bar when customers complained the beer wasn’t cool enough. A hands free device is nice though.

Cooler full of Ice water?

Mythbusters once showed that if you put salt on the ice in a cooler, it causes the ice to melt at a faster rate, which cools off drinks in the cooler faster.

Yup. If you have ever made homemade ice cream the process requires rock salt. Same idea basically.

I’ve never made it, but knew rock salt was part of the process.

“They” say you can get a paper towel wet, wrap it around a can/bottle, and put in freezer. Not sure how fast it cools, and haven’t tried it, but is supposed to accelerate the cooling

The rock salt is put on top of the ice that is on the outside of the cylinder containing the ice cream. As it turns, the ice melt and cools the metal cylinder. In my experience, my mom makes homemade milky way ice cream about every week, the rock salt makes a big difference in the time it takes to partially freeze the ice cream mixture.
