Apparently, unless you use IE, Edge, or this plugin - then you’re most likely watching Netflix at 720p when on a computer browser.
However, this guy wrote a plugin for Chrome to force 1080p.
Plus another user wrote an equivalent Firefox plugin (if that’s your jam).
Wow, I did not know that. I’ll have to give it a try. Why would Chrome and Firefox not display 1080p thought?
Would it be to conserve memory usage?
Don’t know.
Netflix unequivocally states the limitations on its own site though.
Apparently it’s a DRM issue that prevents the 1080p from being streamed. I’m not sure why it works fine on Edge.
