Wes Craven just passed away at 76. He created Nightmare on Elm Street which was not only scary as hell but completely original. It was so different than other horror movies at the time. It’s one of my favorite horror movies of all time. He’ll be missed!
No scream 5 then. Damn it. Last house on the left, the man had a twisted mind. He will be missed
Even his very tongue in cheek commentary on mass media at the time - Shocker - was a fun horror flick. Not to mention it had a hell of a hair metal soundtrack back then.
Watched the hell out of Shocker! Completly forgot about that one
Didnt even realize he was that old…
Yes, Freddy was the shit. I love horror movies and nobody compares to Freddy. The nightmare movies - as cheesy as some of them were - and the Scream movies are up there with my faves. And some of the best ideas and concepts.
The first one wasn’t cheesy, that was a horror masterpiece. It was so original. The rest were cheesy, fun slasher flicks. Loved them as well.
No, the first one was great, and in all honesty one of my fave horror movies of all time was Dream Warriors. However, some of them got some cheese in them.
Yeah, the first Elm Street is the only horror flick that scared me so much that I was nervous as hell walking outside in the dark going home after watching it at my Mom’s friend’s house. The rest were just plain fun slasher films - Robert Englund really made that character.
The only ones wes craven did were first and new nightmare which were distinctly wes craven style not campy like the rest
He was a writer on all of them it looks like. Never knew there was a TV series.
He has a character credit for all of them, but only screenplay credits for the first, third, and new nightmare.
Yeah watched the 4.5 hr doc on netflix. He sold all the rights to nightmare in order to get the first one even made and put out
I watched the TV show…meh
