All stemmed over a tweet MGK made about his daughter being hot six years ago but Eminem came out with a surprise album about a week ago and had a couple lines dissing MGK on one of the songs.

Supposedly “Not Alike” was (partly) in response to the “No Reason” single that MGK featured on in which he dissed Eminem.
So, not just a 6-year response to the original tweet, though Eminem clearly referenced that in his song.

Em had some hard disses the whole way and was lyrical but that’s who he is. MGK came with anger and the points he was making Em didnt prove him wrong otherwise in his response IMO.
Aside from some personal shots, MGK was trying to let everyone know that Em you’re trying to use your status and influence to hinder me and others from being more successful and you’re a grown ass man at that. “Let’s talk about it!”
Same thing Benzino tried to do to Em with his magazine.
To your point tho Em didnt go near as hard as I thought he would but I think were in store for more rounds no doubt. This was not a killshot IMO
