So I played almost 5 hours of CoD last night and I noticed I never played one DLC map. Foolishly, I prepaid for the season pass. So I have every map. What’s the point of spending the extra money if you never get to actually play the maps. We had 9 people on and really couldn’t venture into the limited “DLC playlists”
We even stick to the standard maps on Clan nights. I know we have to as some don’t own the maps and we don’t want to exclude. It just seems like I’m not missing anything if I skip buying them. All they do is separate the player base and make matchmaking more difficult.
CoD AW DLC is the last DLC I pre-pay for. The same thing happens in BF4 as well. Is there any reason to actually purchase DLC maps for shooters?
Yeah if everyone in your party does not have the season pass or bought all the DLC Map packs then you won’t get put into them. So it would be a waste unless you only play with season pass holders.
Destiny wasn’t a miss for me but I probably should of just bought the map packs as they were released. I wasn’t into the last one at all. Prison of Elders Horde mode isn’t a game type I enjoy. I did play enough of the Crota one to warrant that.
I learned my lesson with BF Premium and Hardline was a gamble. I figured hardcore BF players wouldn’t like a CoDified BF and bail quickly on that game. I wonder if there are any DLC servers for Hardline on the XB1?
I will be debating this as well. I also hate that when the maps come out and they make the dlc only Playlist and there is no hardcore. Outside of clan wars and clan night ground war, I only play hardcore. I know a lot of the GRG guys prefer hardcore and it sucks that you can’t play the new maps until they put them in general circulation. Even then, like @lala_calamari said you still never seem to play them.
BF premium is worth it in my opinion. But the worst is paying $50 for it and they put it on sale for $25. I don’t know about upcoming DLC for Battlefront or Blops 3. I would rather they offer all maps for individual purchase cuz some of the maps just suck
I hear you. I hated the China Rising map pack. I’m not a fan of the vehicle only enormous maps in BF. I like maps like Dawnbreaker, that offers a good mix of everything but still gives you plenty of spots for infantry battles.
I agree with you, Farmer. Most of this clan prefers hardcore on CoD, and the fact that the new maps don’t get introduced to the normal rotation until the next pack comes out really hurts. I have never bought a season pass, and never will, mainly because odd are I won’t be near as into the game by the time the final dlc drops. Plus I just hate the racket of dlc as a whole.
I understand it hurts a party’s ability to get dlc maps if someone in said party doesn’t have them, but I can’t be the only one who doesn’t get them, right @Gunny?
I normally only get DLC maps when they’re free (either since it’s much later or those rare occasions they give a couple away)
If I do pay it’s a fair while later so I’m not decreasing the available player count much, I figure most people still sticking with it will have bought the extra maps by then
Destiny I view differently since it only added content. Granted I could have waited longer before purchasing it (I bought the season pass - first two DLC) but it actually timed well with my progression.
