The high fire rate of the M42 wasn’t necessary.
The point they made about needing more ammo carriers makes complete sense to me.
The German weapons were more accurate . The MG 42 may have shot fast but it was a whole lot more accurate then they told to the US trainees . They were just trying to knock down the fear factor a bit .
