I switched to this about 2 weeks ago. It’s such a great deal if you use Game pass…actually an amazing deal.
During April’s episode of Inside Xbox, Microsoft officially announced Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a single subscription that would combine Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass for the price of US$14.99 per month.
Before the subscription’s full launch, a limited number of Xbox Insiders on the Preview Alpha ring were invited to test Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a special introductory price of $1, with any outstanding months of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass on their account converted into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a 1 to 1 ratio.
Yesterday, Xbox Wire announced that they are allowing more Xbox Insiders to test Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, as they’ve opened up the service to Preview Beta members as well.
For more information on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, be sure to head over to our FAQs page here: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate: Everything You Need To Know
When upgrading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the remaining time on your Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will be converted to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate time at a 1 to 1 ratio each based on days remaining, up to a maximum of 36 months. For example, if you have 12 months of Xbox Live Gold time remaining, and 12 months of Xbox Game Pass time remaining, this will be converted to 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate when you upgrade.
We are currently validating the functionality to apply additional Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold tokens towards your existing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. As this functionality is still being tested, for a limited time you will be unable to redeem Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold tokens after upgrading. For this reason, we recommend redeeming any Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold tokens prior to upgrading to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
There’s still no word on when the subscription will be available for everybody, but we’ll be sure to let you know as and when details are released.
