Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can access an xCloud game streaming beta later today

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can get their hands on Project xCloud later today before the official launch in September. Microsoft has announced that a new Xbox Game Pass beta app for Android will roll out at some point today (August 11th), which includes a beta for xCloud game streaming.

In a statement provided to The Verge, a Microsoft spokesperson said, "As we approach the launch of cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on September 15th, we’re entering a limited beta period to ensure a smooth transition of the cloud gaming experience to the Xbox Game Pass app on Android.

“Existing Xbox Game Pass (Beta) app users will get the opportunity to test a subset of the available titles as we ready the experience for broader availability next month. This limited beta is critical to providing the best possible experience for members at launch and should not be considered indicative of the final experience or library.”

This limited-time beta period will not feature the full list of over 100 games that xCloud is launching with on Septemeber 15th. The Verge reports that around 30 titles will be playable. Those who want to check out xCloud game streaming and are Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can download the latest version of the app from the Google Play Store when it goes live later today.

Project xCloud officially launches in 22 countries on September 15th for those on Android devices. Unfortunately, it might be a while before we see xCloud come to Apple and iOS.
