Xbox One Question

I’m a fairly new X1 owner. I have had basically problems everytime I use the thing. Either signing into live take forever to complete or it doesn’t complete at all. the friends list more often than not won’t refresh. I go into the network troubleshooting section and it says everything looks good. I check the download speed and it is very very low. Something like 3-5 mb download speed, which according to others isn’t uncommon to see. I have a 30 down/5 up connection. I don’t see any issues on my pc or on the ps4. Is this common? I’m really considering calling them and wondering if it’s faulty.

Set up port forwarding or put the xb1 in the DMZ.

Yea try what Lala said. Also when having issues goto network and see if live has services down. It happens a lot especially on clan night.

One thing I do that fixes a lot of my issues is goto network settings-advanced settings-alternate mac adress-clear alternate mac adress. It forces the Xbox to restart and do a memory whipe.

Another option than port forwarding is to make sure upnp is turned on, on your router.

If you go into network settings advanced you can see your if your nat is restricted.

From my understanding, uPnP isn’t very good. It’s a security risk. It’s not even an option on my router anymore (firmware upgrade removed it).

For multiple XBoxes, you should use Port Triggering. Yes, I know Landdon’s issue isn’t mutliple xboxes.

Thanks yall for the tips. I’ll apply these settings.

Well these days everything needs access to port 80 so I am guessing port triggering is the way to go now for anything Since upnp is now considered a security risk.

As has been mentioned by others I automatically would think you have some port issues going on in your router.
