The next major update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season One will arrive on Thursday, February 4 with a variety of new content across MP & Zombies.
While we’ll have to wait for the update to release before getting full patch notes, there’s a good amount of new content coming to Black Ops Cold War on February 4 for all players.
Let’s breakdown the content we know is coming, and we’ll update this post continuously as we get to February 4.
MULTIPLAYER
Express
For Black Ops Cold War MP players, a new MP map will arrive with the February 4 update. Fan favorite Black Ops 2 MP map Express returns to Black Ops Cold War on February 4, free for everyone who owns the game.
Express is a roughly U-shaped map featuring two train tracks looping around the transportation hub’s main hall. Players can expect plenty of close-quarters combat in the hall, but should note that its glass ceiling leaves it susceptible to enemy Scorestreaks.
Long-range combat can take place across the train tracks, especially when looking out from the sky bridges on either side of the map. These areas are also great places to watch one of the high-speed trains bolt by the station on one of the tracks, where it won’t hesitate to take out any Operator who doesn’t mind the gap.
New Playlist Updates
As part of the February 4 update, new playlists will arrive to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War MP.
The first of which is 40 Player Endurance mode played on the Fireteam maps available in Cold War.
10 squads of four will drop into Alpine, Ruka, and Sanatorium to collect uranium and arm bombs throughout the match. However, after one bomb detonates, a new one will now come online to take its place, ensuring that there will always be five bombs available instead of an initial set of five that gets reduced to a single bomb. This introduces a new layer of strategy and non-stop action to these already intense 40-player battlegrounds.
The score limit will also be doubled from 500 to 1,000 in Endurance mode, making this perfect for completing MP challenges. Jump in with your squad and experience the game’s most elaborate maps in an entirely new way.
In addition, Treyarch says that there will be new maps added to Prop Hunt to help spice and change things up for the mode. The currently map selection for the mode has been the same since the mode first joined the game in December. Players have been asking for it, and on February 4, they’ll get new maps to experience Prop Hunt on.
ZOMBIES
For Zombies fans, the February 4 update is an exciting one! Treyarch will be adding a brand new Zombies map to the fight: Firebase Z.
The team has released a new trailer for the map, showcasing the new locale that players will explore, alongside a first look at some new wonder weapon. The February 4 Zombies update will also include a new perk, the Tombstone perk. Catch up on everything Firebase Z related over here
