Well honestly you have the right idea. Practice and muscle memory is key to shooting. As for up close I normally use my bumper to aim so it’s not ads but not hip firing either. This also depends on what button configuration you use. I like the b option so I don’t have to double tap to ADS. That’s where the bumper comes in.

When you change controller binding preset to type B it changes the aiming. Instead of tapping your left trigger twice to ADS you just pull it to aim in and out. But when you press the left bumper it gives you a different 3rd person aim. Looks kinda like the division aiming. I don’t know how to explain it really. Just have to play around with it and see what you like
I prefer the alt control. I couldn’t get used to the double tap for ADS. When in CQC I tend to just shoot. Use a shotty or an ump. Well, that was my experience a month ago when I played last. Not sure if it changed.
Uninstall the game. There is no hope for you.

Hadn’t played in about 3 weeks or so, maybe 4. Played a solo match the other night, plane dropped everyone off south, circle ended up north by the big mountain. I dropped east of the military base, got shit for weapons, just a pistol, took a boat to the northeast corner of the island. Climbed the mountain and no one was there. First round I fired was to kill #4 and I got popped at #3. Pretty good for the first time back in about a month and going solo with a pistol…

I’m not sure they can keep up with the cheats on PC. Do you think it’s hurting the game?
Fortnite seems to be very nimble with updates. They are constantly trying new game types and weapons. I guess they just have a bigger dev team.

Yes. Many of the big streamers have moved on and concurrent numbers are dropping. I would say that they just moved on to being burnt out but most of the ones I follow are calling the devs and cheaters out for the reason they are no longer playing.
