SnowRunner - notso megathread

There has been some QoL changes. The one that sticks out the most to me is that you can directly refuel a ‘roof rack’ or trailer fuel source from a gas station or other fuel source. So much nicer.

i wonder if they ever fixed hauling vehicles on trailers

Allegedly they have, plenty of YouTube videos claiming it works. I have not watched any of them, but a simple search yields multiple options to watch. I may try it later.

SnowRunner set to get “huge” Season 4 update alongside Steam release

Venturing forth.

By A.K RAHMING April 30, 2021

Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive recently revealed that their venerable off-roading sim SnowRunner is finally coming to Steam on May 18. But, that’s not the only thing that’s happening with the game that day. It has now also been revealed that SnowRunner players both existing and new will get to enjoy the new content of Season 4—the Amur Oblast update.

The new Season 4 update contains the “largest addition to SnowRunner yet.” Amur Oblast is the new area set in Russia, and is a collection of four maps that are 4 square kilometers in size. The individual zones are Urska River, the Cosmodrome, Northern Aegis Installation and Chernokamensk.

The entire collection is centered around the theme of exploring the area surrounding a rocket assembly workshop. Alongside are features like an abandoned city, factory and village, a rocket launchpad, and a semi-abandoned fuel processing facility. The overall job is to roam through the different zones to “rehabilitate an old rocket launch site” and “rebuild the various buildings and infrastructure needed to make the launch site operational again.” Of course, there will also be the massive job of rebuilding the rocket itself.

Snowrunner New Amur Oblast Season 4

More than meets the eye

In addition to the new maps, the SnowRunner Season 4 update also includes two new vehicles: the ZiKZ 605-R and Khan 317 Sentinel. These trucks are accompanied by three new truck sins and two new trailers.

As if this wasn’t already a deluge of new content to enjoy, there’s one more thing that SnowRunner has in store. For players who find themselves getting frostbite and want to turn up the heat a bit, the new update will include a free feature for all: Hard Mode. The developers haven’t detailed exactly what this will entail, but more info is coming “later on.”

Snowrunner View From Above

As someone who just started to play the game again after leaving it for the last few months, I’ve already been done dirty by its tricky terrain and limited fuel. Thus, I really don’t want to imagine what hair-pulling experience the new Hard Mode is going to create. On a lighter note, however, there are two more minor additional freebies include four new trials and five hood ornaments.

SnowRunner customers who own the season pass (included in the premium edition) will have access to the new Amur Oblast immediately. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay extra to enjoy it.

SnowRunner update 1.31 adds Season 7 content, next-gen upgrade

Jim Hargreaves 31/05/22 No Comments

A new SnowRunner update is now available as players dive into the game’s latest season of content. Today also marks the release of SnowRunner on next-gen platforms including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Ready to download now, the new SnowRunner update is free though you’ll need to pay for access to Season 7: Compete & Conquer. You can either buy the expansion DLC on its own or as part of the SnowRunner Year 2 pass which will also unlock one future and two previous content packs.

So, what’s included in Season 7? Firstly, there’s a new map to explore: Burning Mill, Tennessee. This massive sandbox will be populated with a very different kind of SnowRunner activity, inviting players to compete in timed races. We are also getting two new vehicles.

Gor BY-4 – a super lightweight scout car.

Sprinter 43-19 – an impressive Dakar-style truck designed to maintain a high speed under the harshest conditions.

We also have details on the how to upgrade SnowRunner for next-gen systems.

This upgrade will be free for all existing owners, with transferable saves from a console to its next-gen counterpart (Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S and PS4 to PS5). The Year 1 & 2 Passes and all the DLCs will also be available to purchase at launch.

On top of that, mods can now be activated during crossplay sessions (as long as they’re compatible with Xbox Series X|S or PS5), making for evermore memorable expeditions in co-op!

When SnowRunner launched two years ago, Dom couldn’t help but fall in love with its mix of challenging gameplay and sense of immersion:

“SnowRunner is a game thoroughly, single-mindedly, in love with the open road. It just happens that it’s the kind of love that’s bred by getting that road so thoroughly under your nails, you occasionally have to wonder whether it’s actually hate. Care, attention and time will show that SnowRunner is a passion project worth putting the extra mile in for.”

It will be interesting to see how the community grows now that SnowRunner has arrived on more platforms. We’ll keep our ears to the ground and relay any information on Season 8 as it comes.
