Hey, i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for any good free video editing software for pc. Specifically one that allows me to speed up videos as if it were a time lapse.
Windows movie maker works real good
Aighty! Thanks.
Thanks man @EnyoBellona
Ive been using HitFilms which has been pretty good.
If the free ones don’t work out for you I can’t recommend Vegas Movie Studio Platinum enough. Super easy to use. It even has a noob mode that makes it easier. It can do 4K 60 FPS among many other great things.
Are you going to be making a time lapse from photos or video? Photos most any editor will work. Video is a little different process. I am not sure Windows Movie Maker can do it. OpenShot may be able to. I have never used it.
I use OpenShot on my Linux laptop. They also have a Windows client and it’s open source and free. It’s very similar to Vegas Movie Studio Platinum which I use as well (but that requires a purchase).
Gonna do the time lapse from videos. Thanks man. @D1G1TALC1PHERS
So I’ve been tinkering around with stream capturing using mixer and twitch… and well… I haven’t been really happy with the quality of my captures. The videos are all hot messes. But I used the raw data to practice some techniques while I looked into other easy ways to capture… that were inexpensive… well… free.
I mean we all know we can spend $160 bucks on an Elgato and go to town all day long…
And that is a legitimate option… and arguably superior to this method. Discussion welcome.
The Googles seemed to suggest that the best, and FREE method of recording gameplay is with the Window 10 Xbox App Console Streaming and OBS Studio. (I’ll attach a video I found on it)
OBS Studio is free, and easy to find on Googles.
You can use OBS to stream directly to Twitch as well as Youtube.
For the Power PC/Laptop users I also strongly suggest Lightworks for post work on the videos.
This is a free software almost effective as Adobe Premiere Pro.
Lightworks is also free for personal use.
I’m going to be testing out this free setup. My preliminary tests are very promising.
In order to include party chat, just turn on party to tv and headset.
To Capture your own voice, however, you’ll probably need a local (announcer) mic connected to the PC/Laptop.
Video and audio sync shouldn’t be an issue with a single source local stream like this.
I may have to try this out with Xsplit. I don’t like using my elgato anymore because then I can’t play in 4k. I am not spending $300 on the 4k card. I have reverted to just using the mixer app on xbox for ease and I still get 4k.
Yea, this will def let you retain the 4K res on your TV, while outputting a 1080 capture to the PC…
The Elgato HD doesn’t do that.
Another excellent point.
And to be honest. I think the medium stream setting for your LAN is more than enough for streaming or capturing. once the files are edited and compressed, no one will know the difference.
@D1G1TALC1PHERS here’s a video I made using the tools I described above.
FYI… I have the capture settings for OBS set to medium to keep the raw capture files size smaller… it can be scaled up to capture full crisp 1080 images. I’m pretty impressed with the turn out … for a free alternative.
