PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ Miramar Map Coming to Xbox One in May

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ desert map, Miramar, was revealed at The Game Awards in December 2017. PC players have been playing it ever since, but Xbox One players had to agonizingly wait their turn. At this weekend’s PAX East conference, it was announced that Miramar will finally be coming to the One in May.

The map comes complete with weapons and vehicles that are unique to Miramar and has about 20% more traversable land than Erangel, the original map, which has a lot of water around the edges, making Miramar a much larger play environment.

PC testing for the third PUBG map, Savage, which is a small 4x4 map instead of an 8x8 and will have increased weapon spawns, has already begun.

More information about Miramar’s release date is coming soon.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Patch #12 Optimises Vehicles

Bluehole Studio’s extremely popular battle royale title PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continues to receive regular updates to improve the game’s performance while it remains in Xbox Game Preview. Arriving today, Patch #12 continues to fix bugs and add gameplay improvements for different parts of the game.

The highlights of the patch include various vehicle optimisations, including increased damage in vehicle collisions and fixing the randomly flipping vehicles. You can see the full patch notes below:

Optimization and Stabilization

  • Partially optimized the vehicle system. The dust effect caused by friction with the ground during driving has especially been optimized, and the vehicle system has been improved in part.
  • Fixed a problem with voice chat that caused some crashes.
  • Grass objects in Erangel have been optimized and will continue to be optimized going forward.

Gameplay

  • Fixed a serious bug that caused vehicles to flip or get airtime for no reason. This includes the three-wheel bike.
  • Fixed an issue where under certain circumstances the character would be upside down or seated in a strange position when moving seats while riding in vehicles.
  • Player will receive more damage in a vehicle collision. The heavier the vehicle, the greater the damage inflicted upon the player. Also, players are now more likely to die or be knocked out when colliding with a vehicle running at high speed.
  • The vehicle passenger will receive more damage when the vehicle crashes into an obstacle like a wall or tree. When crashing into something at high speed on a smaller vehicle, such as a motorcycle, the player will take much more damage.
  • Fixed issue causing the 4x scope to be excessively reflective.

UI/UX

  • Fixed issue causing certain UI layouts not being properly aligned.
  • Fixed issue of buttons bound to the UI(map, inventory etc.) affecting vehicle operation.
  • Fixed issue of equipment icons not shown properly on the HUD.
  • Fixed issue of LT, RT scrolling not working in the inventory when using controller preset B.
  • Fixed issue of excessive acceleration when the stick is tilted more than a certain angle depending on the R stick acceleration setting.
  • Fixed issue of team member indicators incorrectly showing on the plane

Other Bug Fixes

  • Removed collision of discarded magazine on the floor after reloading.
  • Fixed a cosmetic bug that occurred when characters wore certain clothing or shoes.
  • Fixed issue of fonts breaking up in case of certain languages.

Scheduled fixes for identified issues

  • When changing the deadzone settings in the lobby, the options screen needs to be opened once again for the settings to be reflected. This issue will be fixed soon.

Cosmetics

  • Added a new free crate (“Western Military Crate”) that can be earned with BP.

The developer has confirmed the list of items that can be found in the crate and their drop rates. The list is below:

Items Drop Rates %
Tank Top (Gray) 20%
Raglan T-shirt (Red/White) 20%
Polo Shirt (Pink) 20%
Vintage Polo Shirt 20%
Military Shirt (Gray) 6.5%

Long Sleeved Turtleneck (Black) 3%
Utility Belt (Brown) 1.4%
Camo Tank Top (Red) 1.4%
Military Boots (Black) 0.4%
Battle Belt 0.28%
Vintage Gas Mask 0.28%

Cowboy Hat (White) 0.0128%
Military Skirt (Black) 0.0064%

Patch #12 is available on Xbox One now.

Where are the Load time / Server Enhancements???

The changes looked good on test server, although I wish they’d give an option to change compass color, as it gets pretty washed out on Miramar

PUBG’s Miramar Map Dated for Xbox One With Performance Patch

After a month of test weekends for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ Miramar map on Xbox One, developer Bluehole has announced the map will be officially released on the platform on May 24th. The patch that brings Miramar will also have performance enhancements, which makes sense since Xbox players have noted the Miramar map has been running much better than Erangel.

Before the official release of Miramar on May 24th, players can give the map one last go through testing this weekend. The testing begins at 8 a.m. PDT on May 18th (an end time was not given in the official announcement). Players who own PUBG need only download the test server from the store to participate.

‘PUBG’ Xbox One Update 15 Patch Notes

OPTIMIZATION/STABILIZATION

  • Prediction-based level streaming has improved.
  • Elastic accuracy control for character has improved.
  • We introduced some back-end changes to prepare for an upcoming feature and in some cases, the game would try to interact with this unfinished feature, causing the game to crash. This has been removed.

PLAYER REPORTING

You will now be able to report a team kill. If you get killed by a teammate, simply…

  • Press the Y button when the result is shown to expose the report pop-up.
  • Press the A button to report.
  • Check whether the “report competed” message is shown on the bottom of the screen.
  • If it wasn’t a team kill, the report button won’t appear.

WORLD

Miramar

  • Improvements were made mainly in the northern part of Miramar to make it a more appealing area.
    • The Oasis in the northern area of the map has expanded.
  • We’ve added more car spawning positions to facilitate easy travel into and out of the area.
  • Certain problematic terrain elements (which caused weird collisions or movement) have been fixed for a smoother driving experience.
  • We’ve added extra farming points to loot in the map.
  • We’ve added more objects like trees and rocks in the northern part of Miramar to provide some additional options for cover.
  • The interiors of certain buildings have been simplified.

Bluezone

  • Players can now see the first safe zone while flying in the airplane
  • As the end of the match approaches, the safe zone will increasingly favor cities

BUGFIXES

  • Fixed an issue where motorbike tires would not burst even when damaged
  • Some issues related to motorbike crashes have been fixed.
  • Gamehub stats will now be shown correctly. These stats will be updated with the unaccounted data with some server-side operations which might take a bit of time.

While this particular update is somewhat small in nature, lessening the crashes associated with last week’s Miramar update is hardly a bad thing. It’s also worth noting that yestaerday’s update is only the first in a series of patches coming to the Xbox One version of PUBG over the next few weeks. In an open letter to fans, members of the PUBG Xbox team outlined several fixes to be investigated in the near future. If you’ve been waiting for map selection, improved server performance or a fix for exploding vehicles, that stuff is all part of the current development timeline.

Miramar should crash less after installing the latest ‘PUBG’ update for Xbox One. PUBG Corporation/Microsoft

The letter mentions an update estimated to arrive June 5. We believe this patch is the one that was being discussed, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more patches in the days ahead.

PUBG is available now on PC and in Game Preview on Xbox One. This update is exclusive to Xbox One.

First Details of New PUBG Features

he new trailer for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has created quite a lot of buzz about all the new features, so the team at Inside Xbox decided to organize an interview between Major Nelson and PUBG Corps. In the interview, PUBG Corps talked about some of the teased features.

For instance, the ballistic shield will hopefully change team strategy — perhaps you might have one person using the shield while the others flank. The snow level teased at the end will also be a big deal, with PUBG Corps promising that all the strategic changes we might expect of a snow map should be in play here. Wear some white clothing.

All this new content will be coming to PUBG throughout the year.

Fix the game first!

PUBG’s Getting G-Coins and Reworked Loot Crates

Last week we got the news many had been hoping for or dreading, depending on your point of view: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be officially releasing on September 4th. In addition to the Sanhok map and a bunch of other new features, it turns out we’re also getting new microtransactions.

Okay, settle down. So the currency you buy is called G-Coins. Please don’t make sexual puns, as it’s better than PUBG’s first attempt at paid currency called “Bro Cash.” You buy these and then you can buy specific items and sets if luck isn’t on your side. There’ll also be exclusive G-Coin items as well. This is also how you’ll buy the Sanhok event pass.

The developers are also reworking loot boxes, which have been horrific. Some items will be slightly less rare and, more importantly, you can also buy specific crates. Best of all, crates will cost a flat fee (1000BP for all except the newest crate). That newest one introduces weapon skins.

You can test this out now on the Public Test Server. It’ll all be live on September 4th, along with achievements.

For those that care about Achievements:

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has done pretty well for itself since releasing on PC and now the development team, Bluehole Studio, is looking to have a whole world of success on the Xbox One via the ID@Xbox Program. For some, however, the achievement-less launch may have been a bit of a put off. On the bright side, having been added at a later date, eager battlers will be very familiar and hopefully highly skilled in the game and be able to make the post-launch achievements easy work.

As for the achievements themselves, it’s not going to be surprising if altogether the game’s a pretty tough completion. Versus achievements can be troublesome to unlock, especially if you’re taking your chances on the killing fields without a co-ordinated team. At the same time, however, a team may not be relevant if you’re more of a one-man army. The achievements could be linked to many factors of the game including surviving, kill-streaks, searching a certain number of buildings or sites, collecting different weapons and items, finding vehicles, and more. Players may need to win a certain number of matches and also may need to purchase a number of crates with the in-game currency obtained dependant on the player’s success in matches.

Let’s take a closer look at the newly revealed achievement list to find out what kind of time-frame we’ll be looking at for the full completion.
